Tell us a little about what you do:

I write and take photographs for a bi-weekly column for InsideNoVA titled “Around Prince William.” My bi-weekly column focuses on political, social, human interest and other subjects which occur in Prince William County. Member of the Virginia Press Association, the Outdoor Writers Association of America, and the Virginia Outdoor Writer’s Association.

What’s new since you graduated from LPW?

Leadership Prince William gave me a greater appreciation of the many dimensions of Prince William County. This knowledge armed me well to explore issues I write about in greater depth. It has also made me more active as a political and social activist.

What is your favorite LPW memory?

Breaking the rules for all of the exercises. I was surprised to be elected to the Class Representative to the Board of Regents since I didn’t actually run for the position. Fellow classmate and team member John Frisch nominated me.

What does leadership mean to you?

Real leadership is decided by others. You are only a leader if there are people following you voluntarily, or if you are influencing processes and decisions you care about.

Any final thoughts?

I hope you read my column!
