Leadership Prince William’s Summer Youth Academy
The Leadership Prince William Summer Youth Academy is a two-week program for students who want to have a once-in-a-lifetime summer experience. It is unlike any other ‘summer camp’ program because it focuses on the students: learning about themselves, connecting with other student leaders, having amazing field trip experiences and giving back to their community. The Summer Youth Academy is based on Leadership Prince William’s successful adult program, and this is the fourth year for our Summer Academy.
Program & Activities
During each session of this 10-day program, students are introduced to community issues and leaders through group discussions, field trips and hands-on activities. Participants have an opportunity to enhance their team building, communication and leadership skills. Leadership Prince William selects student leaders from a cross section of Prince William County, Manassas City and Manassas Park residents. The camp is hosted by Leadership Prince William and based at Youth For Tomorrow in Bristow, Virginia.
- Field trips to local historic sites, the Public Safety Training Center, Micron Technology & much more!
- Meet local business, government and education leaders.
- Explore possible education & career paths.

Emergenetics STEP – As part of the Youth Academy, we incorporate STEP (Student/Teacher Emergenetics Profile), which is an exciting way to help students learn about their own thinking preferences, how they work with others, and how to communicate with people who think differently than they do. Based on the acclaimed Emergenetics program, STEP recognizes the dynamic, individual thinking and behavioral styles of youth.
