What is Leadership? Discover it with the Summer Youth Academy

The Leadership Prince William Summer Youth Academy is a 2-week day program designed to help students develop lifelong leadership skills and connect with other young leaders. In the process, they will also learn more about their community.

BE A CAMPERBE A LEADER IN TRAINING (Counselor)

When & Where: July 13-24, 2020 // Mondays-Fridays, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Each day begins and ends at Youth for Tomorrow in Bristow. Kiss & ride drop-off available beginning at 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. 

Who: Participants in the Youth Academy must be rising 7th through 9th graders. They must live or attend school in Prince William County, Manassas or Manassas Park. 26 spots available. Click here to apply!

What’s in it for your student? 

  • Field trips to relevant local sites including the Public Safety Training Center, Adult Detention Center, Micron Technology, historical sites & more!
  • Personalized Emergenetics profile for each student + the opportunity to discover how their unique thinking and behavioral attributes influence their leadership style. Plus, how to work with others who may see the world differently.
  • Chance to design and manage a community service project with a team.
  • Meetings with local leaders in business, government and education.
  • Enhance team-building, communication and leadership skills while working with a diverse cross-section of youths from across PWC, Manassas City and Manassas Park.

Tuition is $500 per student. This covers breakfast, lunch, snacks & beverages for each day + Emergenetics STEP profile, t-shirt & transportation to all field trips. 

We are also looking for 8 Junior Counselors we call “Leaders in Training!” Must be rising 10th through 12 graders. LITs have an opportunity to attend the Academy, serve as role models for younger students and participate in all SYA activities at no cost in exchange for assisting with Academy activities and supporting Academy staff. {APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED & ALL LIT POSITIONS ARE FULL}
